Music started at home for Liam Ó Maonlaí . His mother was a fine piano player and his father took great pleasure and pride in singing the songs of our native culture .By nine he had developed a love of performance through competing in singing and Tim whistle competitions. These occasion gave him wings . He realised his talent could being him to the road and to other towns and cities . This has been the foundation for his life in music . Since then, after founding hothouse flowers , he continues to travel the world with his music .‘ These are the good times ‘He continues to tour with his band but also plays solo. He is often involved with projects featuring other artists . Afel boucoum, Rhiannon Giddens, Dirk Powell , Dónal Lunny , Peadar o Riada , Robbie mcIntosh, to name a few !
